So we have this little situation with two teams in location itching to blow shit up and stuff, another team inbound and poor Cate twiddling her thumbs just wanting to kill everyone  :sam3

But it needs timing to pull all the strings together to make it work as best as we can with realism. Cate is unaware another air strike is planned, the boys on the ground are. So she DOES not have five hours and they need to communicate that to her. In around 4 hours, the SBS team will arrive, so she has less than that to do what she needs to do. We need the first strike teams inside in that same time period.

So rather than play it out for the next month or so in real time, I am proposing a time jump. We move Lansbury and Freese into the facility (just below the kitchens) then jump 4 hours, blow the tower at the same time as the SBS team with Robert arrive. Have we communication that they are coming? If not Sam can take care of that.

looking for someone to take on Cate's brother. I've never written a bio for him, even on LW. But he'd be pretty easy.

Face Claim is Sam Worthington.

Age: 32, five minutes younger than Cate

Brown Hair, blue eyes he is 5'10" and solid. He was a year behind Cate in going to the Academy (ADFA) because he was a bit of a tool when he was a teenager. He made up for it though. He's army, now with SAS1 and a Major. Divorced with two girls aged 13 and 10 ( shot gun wedding). He is a calm guy, rarely angers and his history other than his service history is much similar to Cate's. He has served in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Solomons and East Timor. he's been wounded twice and has received the DSM with a bar.

I can help with anything more

Subject to EJ's approval I came up with this

Obviously we do have a problem with that don't we?  :D

So okay, what options do we have?

In the first instance, patience, something will always turn up, so without giving too much away, help will be at hand soon.

Yet in the meantime lets think about the bunker. Logically would there really be one way in?
Nooooo of course not. We could suppose there is a back door, an escape route for them, which we can also suppose feeds out onto the Brazilian side of the mountain; so scratch that.

What else? Actually think about it. They need air, lots of it don't they? Then we're in an area with some of the heaviest rainfall on Earth, so flooding might be a problem at times, where does that water go if it gets in? Outflow, sewerage and general water disposal, that has to come out somewhere doesn't it?

So there ya go. All is not so black and white.  :busy

Yep, you got the name right. Cate's old man.

He will be CO of the 2nd task force on the Flag Ship HMAS Canberra leading a coalition of ships from Australia, Canada, US, Japan and Singapore. The Canberra is a new LPH weighing in at nearly 30,000 tonne. It is not currently configured for fixed wing even though it has the ski ramp (I understand AV8 Harriers can operate from it, but not the F35B) It can carry a maximum of 18 helicopters with 8 on the deck, currently the mix will be MRH-90, CH47's and either Black Hawk or Seahawks.

Complement: 358 personnel; 293 RAN, 62 Australian Army, 3 RAAF
Capacity:  Up to 110 vehicles
Troops:     1,046

Name: William Alexander MacGregor:
Rank: Rear Admiral
Age: 58-
Ht 5'11"- medium build, Lt Brown Hair. Fair complexion.
Position: Fleet Command
Appearance: Pierce Brosnan

My Dad created him to play on a RP we had on Gateworld forum.  :D

He is not a graduate officer, rather he came up through the ranks, until selected for officer training in his early career. He became a aviator, firstly on A4 Skyhawks and has had much experience in combat, as an exchange officer with US and British air arms, and commanding a fleet of ships for the Royal Australian Navy. He has flown the Av8B Harrier, the F14D Tomcat, F15E Eagle, F18D. He started life in the Navy as a CDT. He is married to Anne, also a Navy Officer, Commodore (Medical). They have a son, Cate's twin brother Ben who is with the Army. He is younger by 5 mins.

Setting and Rules Information / Location, Location
« on: May 03, 2017, 11:19:10 PM »
Since we have and will have many teams as well as operations occurring in the one thread it can be confusing when reading or finding your 'mental' place in that thread.

So to clear things up a little, please use location tags in this manner (in bold)

 examples: Port Stanley

<CO's office RAF Mt Pleasant>

 <Boat Harbour-Port Stanley>

If you're not completely sure exactly where you are, just ask one of the staff and we will point you in the right direction.

Mission Requests / Incoming
« on: May 02, 2017, 10:23:10 PM »
As we have seen the latest intel, we have some possible decent opposition for our airborne assets.

So this is the beat up. Mt Pleasant's radar detection will be picking up 7 incoming hostiles (Super Étendard)headed directly for them. A call will be made for all pilots to get to their birds and in the air five minutes ago; air combat will be probable. There will also Argentine Naval elements on the way.

What we need first up, is A/ an overall base commander of Port Stanley/ RAF Mt Pleasant. He or she can be an NPC to start with, they will need to be O-6 or 7 in rank, either RAF or RN.

Sam Carter for the moment though is making the calls, but she does need to liaise with other elements such as the CAG.

B/ A call went out throughout Stanley and the base for volunteers from any of the services to add boots on the ground in the search for Cate. The CIA has advised Sam that she either be found before the invasion, or she 'will' be sacrificed in a tactical strike. This leads us to Sorra's character Robert, who has been given leave from his day job which is a Cop with forensics. So we need to assemble a small team to head out to the mainland with him along.

Every month the votes are added and the winner (which is rotating, you can't win twice in a row) gets their little badge. You can vote every 12 hours.

After Action Reports / Operation Volunteer-Falklands
« on: May 02, 2017, 01:39:36 AM »
As the hunt for Cate MacGregor steps up, it is realized that with the impending offensive invasion that things could go south for her very quickly. The Pentagon knows this and so does Langley (CIA), it is imperative that Cate is either rescued quickly, or sacrificed (killed by a tactical strike on wherever they are holding her)

To add boots on the ground to step up the search, Colonel Samantha Carter has been given clearance to ask for volunteers from those personnel stationed on, or rotating through RAF Mt Pleasant in the Falklands. This would be an ideal mission for SEAL operatives and anyone connected to her in any way (CIA's and others). Who we gonna call?
