UNITED KINGDOM

In the UK, we have three main branches:

  • British Army
  • Royal Navy (RN)
  • Royal Air Force (RAF)

I'm going to break these down for you, we'll be starting with the British Army - founded in 1660 and as of this year contains over 80,000 regulars and around 26,500 in the reserves.

Spoiler: show
(The reason for the British army not starting with the prefix of 'Royal' is because only certain regiments and corps are titled as such. It is seen on the same level as an award in much of the same way it's a battle honor.)

British Army uniforms

No. 1 Service dress - Often known as 'Blues' is the universal ceremonial dress. In some regiments, the dress is worn by the regiment's duty officer. Not issued to all units (see No. 2 service dress.)

Spoiler: show

No. 2 Service dress - Worn for formal duties by all units. This is issued free, though for officers will require to purchase caps, belts and shoes (cash grant given.)

No. 5 Desert combat dress - issued to those serving in Cyprus or Middle Eastern countries. This has been since replaced with the Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTPs) since 2011.

No. 8 Temperate Combat Dress - replaced No.5 and No. 9 dress and also known as  the Personal Clothing System – Combat Uniform (PCS-CU). Tactical recognition flashes (TRFs) are worn on the right arm of the combat uniform, denoting regiment or corps.

Often worn with a beret - colour dependent of regiment, list below:

Meet Tango Four Two...

Looking for the rest of Alastair's team!

Lead/Signals - Franklin "Frankie" Harris

Demolitions/ 'Tailend Charlie' - Johnathan "Mac" MacDonald

Medic/ Linguist - Daniel "Danny" Hobbes

These names are changeable, but preferred. Backstory for any of them are up to the player who takes them, I'm up for them to be friends beforehand - though most of them would have become tightly loyal to one another - more family than their own blood. The jobs are to stay as they are - as each SF member specialises in a primary skill and then a secondary.

(It would be also great to see anyone part of other SBS squadrons or patrols!)

If you have any questions, please contact me!

Mission Requests / Re: Damsel in Distress
« on: April 27, 2017, 09:32:28 PM »
Would the US (or NATO) be doing bombing runs there? Do we have say a reason to invade, even if we make it up? :) I'm up for any country really, so long as its possible to do the basic concept.

Yeah, true. Syria seems a more viable option.

@Mim - Yeah, I guess, so...

How about Sierra Leone?

If we're going for the whole cartel/ group thing. It's a place of conflict...

But I'm down for whatever you folks want.
