Robert's eyes kept scanning the area around them.  One never knew where an enemy could be hiding and he wasn't about to be caught.   Not unless getting caught got him to where Cate was and than they could get out.  It was taking all his years of training to keep him calm and level headed.

Robert caught sight of the flash right after Broderick and he grew tense.  He didn't relax his stance until he knew for sure the group coming toward them were friends.  He stepped a bit closer to the group, listening to what needed done.  Right now he didn't have much to add and they seemed to know what to do.

Robert was nearly bouncing the whole trip.  He gripped his fists closed, glad to finally be doing something.  At least he could try to get Cate back.  He was one of the first off the chopper, gun in hand.  He knew he had to wait for further instructions though.

Robert hurried out with the others.  He didn't care about the rain or anything else.  Not now that he was finally given the chance to go after his fiancee.  He just prayed that she was still safe.  He nodded at Broderick.  He was ready to get into the air.

Robert was itching to get going.  He knew this was something that couldnít be rushed though.   Not if they wanted to save lives and not lose any unnecessarily.   He nodded in answer to Sam.  "I hope to not need that much time, ma'am.  I know Cate is tough but I don't want her there any longer then she's already been."

Robert turned to Brody when he was asked a direct question.  "I do, sir.  At least the basics.  I'm normally just a pilot,  but this is different for me.  It's personal. " Not that saving people wasnít but this was his fiancee who was captured.

Robert was trying hard not to pace.  He wanted to get going and find Cate.  After seeing Cate's bruised and battered face on the TV he was ready to go pummel someone.  Only his years of training were keeping him in one spot right now and the fact that if he wasn't careful he would get himself kicked off this mission and there was no way he was letting that happen.

Robert's icy eyes widened when he caught Sam's words.  Scrubbed mission?  Heck no.  They couldn't do that.  God, no.  He couldn't leave Cate there.  Sure, he knew Cate could take care of herself, but that didn't mean he didn't want to pull her into his arms and never let her go.

"Point me toward a boat, a plane, a jet ski.  I don't care what but I want to get my hands on those that think they have the power to control people like this," he said lowly.  He was trying hard not to over step his bounds. "Is there anything else that you can tell us?"

I've always been a country girl myself.  George Strait was my all time favorite with Reba not far behind.  I also like Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

Bryan Adams is my go to for rock and roll.

Robert smiled at Trish,  nearly giving her a hug.  "You got it.  I'm not coming back without her."  That much he did know.   He turned when a fork dropped and Broderick's hand dropped onto his shoulder.   Before he could question it his icy eyes widened.  "That monster," he snarled,  seeing the bruises on Cate's face.  "He's dead when I get my hands on him." He didnít know or care who the guy was.  He had hurt Cate and that was all that was going through his mind at the moment.

He nodded at Broderick.   "Lead the way.  I'm ready and willing to go."

Robert was still trying to calm himself when they reached the office.   He didn't want to chance getting himself kicked off the mission by doing some thing stupid.   He wanted to get to Cate and he would do what he could to get put there.

Robert chuckled a bit.  Leave it to Kyle to have sone crazy story like that.  Although it make sense.   He had to admit it felt good to be able to laugh with them.  Cate wouldn't want them to be upset.  Although he wasnít giving up on her.  Robert grabbed a sandwich and some chips figuring he needed to eat.

Before Robert had a chance to head over to the table someone he had never seen before spoke his name.  He turned to Broderick, tray in hands.   "Thats me, sir."  A smile actually touched his lips, something that had been missing since Cate was missing.  She could always get him laugh.  "Got that right.   When do we leave?"

Robert rolled his ice blue eyes, glad that the brim of his hat hid them. "Very well.  Guess it's up to you and me Kyle to keep these stories going," he said, trying not to think about what he might have lost.  He had to keep his head in the game if he had any hope of finding Cate.  Robert just shook his head.  "You know, one of these days someone is gonna come after you for that little image on your bird," he teased Kyle.  He had gotten over it a long time ago.  It was still odd to see though.

The light haired cowboy finally nodded. "You have a point there.  Good, then we have an even better chance of finding her." He looked over at the table and shrugged a broad shoulder. "Sure, why not.  Maybe they have heard something we haven't," he agreed, grabbing a plate to get his meal since just coffee wouldn't cut it.

Glad to meet everyone.  I'm 30 and single.  My babies are my two horses and my cats.  Yes I sound like the crazy cat lady lol.

Mim introduced me to the site and I love it.  Still had a lot to learn so please be patient with me.  I love reading and writing.  Drawing is a hobby of mine when I can get my fingers to cooperate and actually draw something besides a circle  :lol

I'm usually around during the day and don't be afraid to poke me if I have missed something or you need me to jump my characters somewhere.

Robert actually laughed a bit at that.  "Hmm, I'm sure we could come up with some stories," he answered, glancing at Kyle.  There were also other parts that he would rather forget like the landmine that had taken out a good soldier who had been trying to help one of the local children get back to safety.  War was not pretty.  It was one of the reasons he wouldn't complain about his job as a cop.  there was times he felt like he was living in hell on earth.

"Wait, you mean you actually aren't gonna spout off any stories?" he asked, surprised by Kyle. "And I've heard of him.  I'm sure Trish does have some stories to share." Robert rolled his eyes.  'Hence why I'm not tempting him."  he followed Trish's gaze.  "Hmm, that seems right.  There are quite an assortment of people here.  I'm hoping at least one of them will help us to find Cate." He couldn't help it.  He missed her and wanted her back in his arms.  Robert shook the thought for his head as he walked over to get a cup of coffee.  He needed something to distract him until he was able to get back out there and hunting.  Trish and Kyle picking on each other was helping though.

Robert barely seemed to notice the rain as they walked.  As soon as he could he had managed to snag his sand colored cowboy hat and slipped it over his short blonde hair.  Rain might annoy others but after spending time in the desert he decided he would never complain about rain again.  he blew out a breath at Kyle's reminder.  That had been a bad time and he had nearly lost it there.

"Yeah, we were.  I pushed too hard and as Kyle so kindly reminded me I burnt myself out.  It wasn't a pretty picture.  Took a while to truly get back on my feet although I hate to admit it, but Kyle did have a hand in that," he said, shooting his friend a slight smile.  "And I do know he will do as he threatened and tie me to a chair.  I think I'll just agree to come and get something to eat.  Listening to him babble all day is torture," he teased, trying to stay upbeat.  Cate wouldn't want him to be depressed.

Robert blew out a breath.  He knew he couldn't do anything until he received the call or was given the go ahead but that didn't mean it was easy.  He wanted to punch the wall or something.  Maybe he should find a gym or at the very least a punching bag to release some of his frustration.  What he really needed was a ride on his gelding Domino but that wasn't possible right now.  He nodded to Sam. "Got it.  Phone's on my belt.  I'm not about to miss that call."  He wanted to get out there and get searching.  He wanted Cate back.

Robert hesitated briefly at Kyle's offer before finally nodding. "Yeah, sure.  Thinking isolation right now isn't a good idea."  He would go crazy if he was by himself right now.  Robert pushed to his feet, nodding at Sam before turning to follow the rest of his team, minus one spunky leader.

Robert didn't like the idea of Cate's rescue being put on the back burner.  He knew Sam spoke the truth but that didn't mean he had to like it one little bit.  In his opinion Cate would always come first.  And since he wasnít part of the active teams he could think that way.

Robert stood stock still, wondering if he was going to be ordered to stay behind.  If he was he wasnít quite sure how he would react.  Thankfully Sam didn't make him wait long.  "If it gets me back out there I'll hold my emotions in check. "  He nodded at Trish and Kyle.  "You can be assured nothing is gonna hold me back from finding her.  Come hell or high waters I will bring her back."
