Damion was impressed with how the American was quick to catch on to how they all operated… mind you, he wasn’t entirely surprised either given how it was common sense for them to destroy any and all downed planes, helo’s, etc. should they ever go down. So, upon the sight of the jet going up in flames as the thermite quickly took effect, they all moved on. After they discovered the signs of struggle and conflict, and after they made their report the three men all waited for the replies from the other units for a moment. The reply came quickly, the Delta’s first who quickly brought up the confirmation that they were moving to regroup with them. Though Damion had already decided to follow the tracks, knowing full well that even a second wasted on waiting around could have dire consequences for the hostage. So, after he gave the order for them to continue on their way, the Canadian officer heard their American fellow state how they could say while he continued on their way.

Damion just raised a brow a little unsure if he had actually heard what he had said before, but he merely shrugged it off before turning to Christian. “Alright, let’s move. Can’t waste any more daylight.”

“Sounds good, I’ll let the others know while we move.” Christian replied quickly with a nod as he keyed the comms.

“Assassin 4-4 to all elements. Be advised we’re following the trail, we’ll scout up and report our status and position as we find anything vital. Over.”

Shortly after Christian made the report, the three men were once more on the trail of their captured pilot. The Canadian officer’s eyes continued to scan the little trail left by the captors. Thankfully, they were lucky the men who had kidnapped the downed pilot were actually amateurs and had left a pretty visible trail for them to follow. The best piece of evidence being the heavy set footprints left by the ones carrying the pilot by how deeply they sunk into the jungle floor, crushing both grass and mud. Needless to say, the three men were able to utilize the trail to find the location where the captors had taken the pilot.

Damion crouched down as he looked over towards the mountain from their hiding place a more dense area of the jungle before it became flat lands and beach. “Well… good news is we found the main base… bad news… its more than likely heavily guarded.” He said aloud with a low tone before turning towards Christian. “Get the others on the horn and give them our position. Doubtful we’ll be able to do any damage with only two guns. Should at least wait for one of the other units to regroup with us before we begin the rescue operation.”

Christian was already gathering their current location to report to the other units before his CO even gave the order. “Already on it.” He replied quickly before he keyed his mic once more before letting the rest of the units know their location.

Damion nodded before pulling out his C14 to look towards the mountainside complex. Slowly he began to scan the location. Lowering his rifle for a moment before pulling out a notebook and pen before he quickly began to scribble some of the things he had seen.

“Got a river in front of the mountainside bunker, narrow road that winds up the mountain, and by the looks of it, has a few guards stationed at the foot and entrance to the complex…” He mumbled softly while writing down the notes.

Looking back up towards the mountain, he could see that this was not going to be an easy op. Sighing lightly he patted Christian on the shoulder. “What you think buddy? Wait for QRF, or try and get a closer look? Chances are there’s a ‘back door’ somewhere. But we can’t know for sure unless we do some further recon… but~” Pausing a moment he looked over towards the mounted patrols and well-equipped enemies patrolling at the foot of the mountain, as well as the ground patrols on the road, and the heavily fortified entrance. “We got a lot of that waiting for us over there.” As he finished the statement he passed over his notes to Christian who quickly began to report the findings to the other units who may or may not be moving to join them.

Cracking a small grin and shaking his head though, Damion just brought his weapon up once more before he began scanning the location once more, looking for any other possible hidden units, such as snipers or whatever else might be defending the mountain. As he scanned the mountain side he wondered what their Ranger friend was doing, more so given how he broke off in going a different route to try and get a better position and preform recon on another part of the AO.

<The Jungles Near the Border of Argentina/Brazil>

Ghost had parted ways with Assassin Four. They followed the trail and he went to Rally Point Three to set amd springboard in on their first target. He found somw concealment in a low laying tree and got aetroes, sinking back into thw brush and waiting patently.

The subtle but of the. Occasional voice through his headset or tthw sounds of the jungle had his senses on pins and needles. His Mk12 was propped up subtly, OD cloth wraps helped concealed the weapon, and light netting drapes draped over Ghost's head helped conceal him.

He heard the traffic chime in over Assassin's channel, probably a subtle echo from someone close to Top. Most likely Brick.

---------

"Assassin Three, Assassin Four. Read your last, out." The Rangers had split from their Delta counterparts. Word had ot that thwuu should link up with the brits near the crash site.

The group took a quick security halt so that Top could Inform Assassin of the changes to the situation, relating the information to Assassin elements, from Assassin Main. "Okay, here's the score. We're expecting to receive a lost of demands, or confirmation of the pilots status shortly. I doubt the cartel would just ait on this, and our superiors think the same."

"So scorched earth policy?"

"It's a possibility. Everyone has their limits and apparently this rabbit hole got deeper. She's also agency."

"You have got to be fucking kidding me. She's a walking security risk."

"Well someone thought tlit was a good idea to let her fly. Not thw point. We may need to guide a strike right onto of her, or simply ensure clandestine integrity. If she's compromised or at any point a liability, we do what we gotta do."

CJ shrugged a bit. Fucked up but i won't cry over it."

"Yeah well Assassin 4 is poised on plot. I doubt we'll get QRF or a sizable force in here without them knowing. They'll kill her or make her ambulatory at best of they catch wind of it. Not to mention there is a standing military here. SAM sites being knocked out or not...theres bound to be more."

"And air," Top added. "Can't drop a sizable force from multiple aircraft at high altitude l, at least not the. Numbers we need. We would have to invade."

"Which means our little group down here needs to be. On the way out with the package...fuck."

"Assume we're on our own. Nothing new."

Brick couldn't help but grin. "You think they'd authorize a MOAB?"

"We wouldn't get far away enough even if we turned around right now amd hauled ass. Plus it's to close to the boarder."

"Justt an entertaining thought."

"Top motioned them up, signaling a wedge amd got the team moving again. They reached RP-3 in about fifteen minutea, taking up sectors.

"Eagle, eagle, eagle." Blue called as they entered.

Ghost keyed is PTT briefly to create a split second. Of squelch before emerging drom his concealment and regrouping with the team.

"Alright Ghost, CJ, push out to our Hide... Skip RP-2. Blue on me and Brick for RP-1. Once the. Main hide is built, we'll push out into our O-P's. I'D hard targets aand stand by for the. Burn orders from Assassin."

Blue dropped his ruck, grabbing one of the two XM25's and packing it into Ghost's fuck. "CJ's got the Jav,  you fot the burst. I've got the other, Top has the .50, Brick's bitch  ass just has the radio."

This gained a bit of laughter from all of them.

"I bring with me thw wrath of gods."

"Borderline pog," Blue added.

"Assassin Main, Assassin-3 Actual. Be advised we've made RPat this time, break, moving to hotel sierra. How copy?"

"Good copy.  You've reached RP, and proceeding to Hotel Sierra. Break. Assets prepped and standing by. Good hunting."

"Three-Actual out." Top rolled hia shoulders, looking around at his men. "Let's get to work." The five men split into their two teams, one moving North West and and the other East.

<Deep underground high in the mountains 1000>

Another hour had passed by all too slowly for Cate. She had been returned to her 8x12 cell immediately after the video was taken with Khalid going through the motions of making sure she watched as he uploaded it onto the web. That was galling for her considering the work she had done with the French all those years ago in getting him locked away. From what she had gleaned in the last few hours there was a lot of money behind this operation and for her the math was simple, big money meant graft, someone was the beneficiary of that wealth which in turn meant there was some stinking corruption in high circles as usual. It never got old.

For the time being all she could do was wait, wait and hope something would come her way because she knew that any attempt at some kind of rescue from the outside was going to be either very slim or non existent. The powers that be would she expect regard her as expendable and once they knew this location they'd just level it. She understood and accepted it. What she needed was a plan, an opportunity.

At some point she supposed someone would be along to start the questioning process, which generally read as torture. With a guy like Khalid obviously leading this part of the Cartel, or indeed maybe the Cartel itself, she knew him well enough to know that he could inflict some serious pain with very little effort given his skills; Cate was expecting that to. So all she could do was lay back on the stinking mattress and think, which she did by focusing on the dimensions of the small room. The only light was through the square hole in the door measuring about 8 inches at about eye level. Enough light to see the cell had only the mattress and nothing else.

For a while Cate was beginning to think that they’d simply leave her there until either the twenty four hours was up, or they’d come along at any minute to kill her anyway, while maintaining the ruse she was still alive. After perhaps another twenty minutes someone was at the door, a female, ordering her to stand against the far wall with her hands flat against the wall. She did this knowing the futility of resisting at this early stage without having any knowledge of her surroundings, who was holding her besides Khalid, or even where they were. The one thing about her was that she was patient, she had after all been in a very similar situation not too many years ago and she escaped from that one as well. The sound of the cell door opening, the women’s voice speaking  again to someone outside then Cate heard the soft sound of boots entering the cell. “-Voy a cuidar tus heridas, así como alimentarte.” A very young voice told her. Then that same voice lowered to a barely audible whisper. "Por favor, debes ayudarme, estos hombres son cerdos y monstruos, tengo tanto miedo ... No soy una puta ... No soy un esclavo ..."

"... ayúdanos."

Cate understood clearly, she Could tell by the horror in the girl’s voice she was sincere, that was no act. But to be sure she merely nodded that she understood. Gently then her hands were taken to be placed behind her back with the coldness of handcuffs following shortly after, then a single ‘click’. There it was, something was about to go down and she knew it, there wasn’t the normal ratchet sound of the cuffs being fully locked. It could well be they were setting her up, an attempted escape and she gets shot. Or the girl was sincere. She was turned around to be led out by the speaker who was wearing the hijab over her black BDU’s; as they left the cell, two others fell in behind them as Cate was taken to another room much further down the hallway; she counted the paces with her head down. This room was larger, it smelt of women, that much she could tell.

<The Jungles Near the Border of Argentina/Brazil, 1015 LOCAL>

The CAG element shadowed their Ranger counterparts silently as they moved through the jungle. Sully listened carefully to all that was said, but kept quiet. He was brought out of his thoughts by Castle.

"Boss, they're right ya know." He said. "If we can't get her out, we should prepare to bake the area and haul ass."

Sully gave a nod. "I hear ya brother, this has fucking Roberts Ridge written all over it." That elicited grumbles of acknowledgement from his team. The Battle of Takur Ghar, as it was formally known, was a major loss for the special operations community. And this terrian, enemy, and mission nearly mirrored that.

Vegas chimed in to change the subject. "Heads up, Stingray is on station." He said as he kept pushing through the underbrush. "They're going to push us intel as they have it."
--

They finally reached the grid coordinates for their OP and fallback point. As CAG and the rangers emerged from the brush, he caught sight of the SAS element nearby.

"Friendlies in the brush." He said out loud, loud enough to be heard by all. He signalled his team to hold up and pull security while the rangers set up their OP. He was reminded just how disrupted his original tasker had been, and the fact that he owed the CIA a strongly worded memo.

He moved over to the SAS team, holding up a hand in greeting. "Mornin', brothers." He said, smirking. "How's the jungle finding you gents this morning?" He asked of Alistair.

Vegas was busy networking. "Palace be advised we are checkpoint bravo, I say again, checkpoint bravo. Push Stingray intel to me, over." There was a pause. "Roger that, out."

Vegas pulled out a tablet, looking at the feed. "Boss, I've got the Stingray feed. We've got bookoo heavily armed assholes roving up there. Looks like they just pulled in two military APCS. And some high speed, low drag mother fuckers just got out."

"Friendlies in the brush."

It was just as Franklin was about to call it, but it seemed the US element had indeed spotted them first. Alastair and his team all stood to group and greet them.

"How's the jungle finding you gents this morning?"

Al nodded, "Like a walk in the park, right, gents?" He shot the question over to his team, who all had the same response - though the delivery could do with a little work.

It was standard training, and they did a lot of training in different terrain, though being in Argentina on an operation held a higher risk factor than when they were dropped off and expected to survive. Alastair was about to ask another question but shut up when the Yank spoke.

"Boss, I've got the Stingray feed. We've got bookoo heavily armed assholes roving up there. Looks like they just pulled in two military APCS. And some high speed, low drag mother fuckers just got out."

That did not sound good.

Compared to the Cartel guys that they had ran into sounded like kids with guns, "Bloody hell...least, it's not just us anymore, glad to finally have some company around. What's the plan?" He asked as the rest of his team fell into their positions.

<The Jungles Near the Border of Argentina/Brazil, 1015 LOCAL>

Back at the Hide site, Top had remained back with the CAG team and the brits, showing them the sector sketches they out together and using his hard case laptop to show them the over head to plan a route. His two recon team's were deep in the bush doing their job and sending info back to actual and main respectively.

Once the questionbnwas posed, Top secured his suppressed M4A1 and walked over. His boone tipped back as he joined the two other team leaders. "Well simply, we've got eyes on a number of outposts in the area, various local enemy assets. We've  also got a lot of hard targets in place."

Top looked over to Hendricks and pointed to one of his boys. "May need one of your LAWs." He glanced back towards the objective, viable through a clearing of treetops, eyes scanning the adjacent ridgelines. "We're going to light these targets up with guided assets amd draw in as many I'm asshole as we can. Hopefully catch them in a cross. We'll keep them away from the Hide here. Hopefully, while this is going down you all can make your move on to the objective and get out pilot out."

Top fell silent to listen in on some Radio traffic between Ghost and Blue respectively as they confirmed grids for targets and calling out what they saw. "Once we initiate contact we'll call in EVAC, and QRF. There wont be. Time to get locked into a firefight. We'll funnel friendlies back into the jide and springboard out to an eey command post. Which by the time we roll out should be smoldering ashes and bodies. The real problem is going to be on your end. We don't know what all is in there or the state of the current objectice. I advise having a stretcher at thw ready. Speed is security so do your thing. We'll be out here doing what Rangers do. Questions?"

Top held the computer open to show them where his men were on the bluefor-tracker. It was an overhead provides by their assets, showing the interdiction being done. As targets were being called out, enemy assets And positions were being marked on the screen, to include roaming patrols as well. It was command showing that they had an idea of the situation. A simple send and receive until they kicked the blocks off the tires for this thing. "It's going to get chaotic gentlemen."

"Assassin-four, Assassin-three, status report, over."
---------

Ghost and CJ had set up three different OP's by this time. Taking enough time to settle, spot targets, and then move into the next oupost or little camp site. They had to fet small before crossing and LDA once the APC showed up. Ghost rose a brow at tthe sight. His skill printed mask adorned face glanced over to CJ who simply shrugged before turning to pull security while Ghost fixed a target of opportunity. He gathered the range, coordinates, and drew up the collateral plan to semd back to Top.

Brick and Blue were in the same boat, moving from OP to OP, getting their targets fixed. Priority went to fixed stations. SAM sites, big guns. Secondary were any armor or technical pieces. The footmobiles weren't the biggest concern, but rhe command outpost's main building was deffinately a priority. They'd have to silence the massive radome housed atop the building. Again coordinates and calls went out to paint a picture for command and their team.

<Deep underground high in the mountains 1000>

Something was definitely a little off here. On the one hand the young woman was pleading for help, then on the other once they were in the other room (obviously some kind of kitchen) one of the three accompanying girls shut the door, then more or less took up a position as if guarding it. That gave rise to Cate’s curiosities which showed plainly the way she wrinkled her nose. So when she felt it was safe enough after being guided to a chair, she spoke to the young woman who first came to her.

“Do you speak English.” She asked as she sat down lightly. Her rear end was still quite sore from her rather spectacular landing.

“Si. I am Luciana, these two are my younger sisters Mariana and Delores, the girl by the door is Sophia.” As she spoke, Delores handed her a small first aid kit, brand spanking new with US DoD markers still on it.

“So, these men you speak of, I take it from Khalid being here that not all of them are Argentine?” Cate knew she had to get straight to the point, there was no way of knowing how much time she had. By this time Luciana was wiping away excess blood from Cate’s cuts and scratches; nothing too serious thankfully.

The girl nodded. Cate noticed she wasn’t more than eighteen, the sisters younger and Sophia possibly about twenty at best. “Si, there are fourteen men here including that English pig. Eight are local, the rest from different parts of the Middle East except for one we call the ‘Butcher’, he is from Pakistan. All our men from this region have ‘converted’.” She used the term loosely. “As in fact most of us were forced to, but for us…” Her hand indicated her companions. “…we do not accept it. We wear the mask of deceit to stay alive.”

That was perfectly understandable, though Cate knew there was far more to the story yet. She probed further. “I am going to assume by what you said earlier and knowing the mind state of Islamists, you are ‘property’ to be done with whatever they wish. Is that correct?”

“We are nothing but their personal whores!” Mariana spat hatefully. “And if we refuse, we die. Originally there were seven of us, somewhere out there…” She pointed in a random direction. “…the bodies of our sisters lay unburied, cast off like garbage.”

This wasn’t good, not good at all and right she couldn’t think of a worse position for these girls to be in. Still, Cate never was one to give up easily. She felt for these kids, she knew from their faces this wasn’t a ruse, there was deep sincerity in their eyes. “Other than the front door and I presume a back door, are there other ways in and out of this place?” A pause in thought. “How many guard that winding pathway that leads in here, did you include those?”

Luciana shook her head, obviously she was stressed. “No, I am sorry I did not. There are two at each turn, they have rifles but not much more except the last turn, there they have a heavy machine gun.” Again she shook her head. “I….”

The other girl against the door walked over, bending close to Cate. “In the bathroom we use, there is a grill that empties excess water. It goes into a waste pit, then angles down towards the river, a person can climb through that.”

“Well then,  I guess that none of you have done that because of retaliation? Your families are threatened?” She was reaching, but she knew the answer.

All of them nodded. “Although, I think…” Sophia was going over something in her mind. “Your soldiers are looking for you, one of us would not be missed for an hour or so, especially now as those within go to their prayer meeting.”
Now she had something to work with. An hour, not much but just maybe. The thought of Cate escaping herself wasn’t even in question, for the moment she was missed these kids would be dead. She knew that.

Not far above the US and British team, a young woman appeared with her hands held up, she carried nothing, except the face of fear. In clear English she said. “Don’t shoot, I come from Catherine.”

Having split off from the rest of the units to set up an over watch position to watch for any and all signs of activity from the nearby mountain and the surrounding AO. Laying silently on the jungle floor with a ghillie suit made from the surrounding foliage, Damion was going through the motions of marking the ranges and doing the constant checks on all the enemy hardpoints, while also ensuring to keep his eyes peeled for any changes. Thankfully, all seemed quiet as he and Christian’s rifles aimed down towards the site some ways away.

“Hmm… got another armed patrol of six guys, carrying…” pausing a moment to adjust the sights of his scope, “…four Ak’s, and two light weapons. Standard kit.” Christian reported softly.

“I see ‘em. Man, these guys sure as hell walk as if nothing bad's coming their way.” Damion replied with a grin.

Christian just smiled.

“Anyways, any news from our friends at RP?”

Christian shook his head, “Nothing new. All teams are just waiting for the go order right now… that and we’re also waiting to see if we can find a backdoor or something, at least that’s what Top reported. Told us they sent two of their own to look for the backdoor and… yeah, that’s it. Nothing new.”

“Right. Well, all we can do is just keep watch and make sure any and ally new tango’s are marked and tracked for the time being until something else develops.” As Damion made his reply he suddenly saw a young woman come out from the large steel doors, with the guards paying her little to no attention save the odd nod of acknowledgment. “Wait a minute… got something, at the main gate.”

“I got her… shit looks like a civie.”

Letting out a small sign, Damion shook his head, “Yup… just made this a fair bit harder if we have to watch our fire… Report this to the others, let them know.”

“Yup, already on it.” Christian quickly rolled over, bring up the communications and keying his mic. “Assassin-four-four to all callsigns, we’ve spotted an unarmed female civilian heading in your direction. Advise caution… No hostile troop movement at this time, but be aware of potential sniper risk. Will continue to watch the tree line and continue to give updates as they come. Over.” As soon as he had made the report, he looked over to the Captain, who was now frowning slightly.

“Don’t like it… She’s just walking out in the open… Feels like a trap to me, as if there’s someone waiting to discover our position.” Damion muttered aloud.

Christian nodded, “Your call sir… we can drop her now, and save us any potential risks, or wait and see.”

Damion mulled it over in his head, contemplating the pros and cons of both actions. “Fuck it… we’ll wait and see, chances are she’s just really fucking stupid in acting as bait to lure us out of hiding, or she’s on her own and looking for something.”

“Hopefully the latter.”

Damion nodded slowly in an effort to keep the long grass strands from falling overtop the scope. “Yeah…”

A few minutes later she entered the jungle, and raised her hands up, although the two Canadian’s couldn’t hear what she was saying, they could gather all they needed by her body movement. “Latter of the two.”

“Well, that’s a bonus.”

“Heh, yeah, but don’t let down your guard, get eyes on the tree line to her Six, chances are she’s being watched, even if she herself isn’t aware of it.”

Though despite saying so, he knew Christian didn’t need to be told as his green eyes were already scanning the tree line, looking for anything that might otherwise indicate a sniper hidden within.

Damion keyed his mic, “Assassin-Four-Actual to Crusader, Tango-4, and Assassin-three Actuals. We’ve got no signs of activity, but still advise caution when approaching civilian, your call in how to deal with her. Over.”

Now, all the two Canadian’s could do was wait and see what happened next.

Sully gave a grin to the Brit as he quipped back. "Remind me to avoid the parks you frequent, if this reminds you of them." He laughed and knelt as Vegas continued to get intel pushed to his tablet. Vegas was over coordinating with the ranger element, marking targets and routes.

They were mid-conversation when the civvie broke through their lines and announced herself. His team turned, weapons raised. The girl came a hair's breadth away from getting smoked. "Put your fucking hands in the air!" Sully said, remembering the young kid from before. She was well within kill distance if she was packing too.

The girl, shaken, put her hands up slowly, bottom lip trembling. "Catherine sent me to find you. Please senor."

"Assassin-four, cordon us off. Fuck knows who else is out there meandering. Stay frosty, out." Sully radioed back to Damian and his group. "Voodoo, Speedy you got her?" He got nods from the two operators. Slowly, he moved forward, he fished a zip-tie from off his MOLLE loop and reached up, taking a hold of her left wrist. "Don't move. If you move we will shoot you." She nodded silently. Taking her hands back down and behind her back he zip-tied them together, then did a quick frisk of her emaciated form. "She's clean." He stepped back but let his team and the ranger keep their weapons trained on her.

"Now, start from the beginning. What do you know about 'Cate'?" He asked sternly.

The girl showed no nerves at all, in fact she was openly cooperative as she sat heavily on a nearby fallen log. "I have less than one hour now to return. Catherine is helping me and my friends at this very minute but if I delay returning and am missed, they will kill my friends and most likely torture her. They will not though kill her just yet, they need her." It all fell out in hushed but firm tones, her accent heavy yet clearly understandable.

"Her message is that she needs time, she realizes your forces are under orders to take this position, but she says that many lives will be wasted if rushed. When the time comes, she will send me back to aid getting some of you inside the same way I came out." She paused gathering her thoughts. "She said to try a frontal assault now would be sheer suicide and she asks that you stall for at least four to five hours. She asks only for one meter of copper wire and a roll of duck tape, that is all."
"The stars are no barrier for me."

Top was a little more than taken back by the situation at hand and how it was playing out. "You have got to be kidding me. We are on mission, right now. We have assets in the move and here...right the fuck now. And you want up to five hours?" He scoffed and turned away to face the others in passing. "Guess its good we're not assaulting," he muttered as he held his hand to the radio and spoke into the peltor's mic. "Team one, team two. Sitrep, over."

---------

Ghost and CJ settled into their last OP, spotting targets by precedence and coordinating with HQ and their assets. "Top, Ghost. We're almost done here. Break. What's the situation with that leaker?"

"She's here. Questionable Intel and begging for time we dont have."

"Is it a problem?"

"Not yet."

"QRF?"

"Task force is inbound, the clock is ticking but we may have to wave off."

At this time Brick came in over the comm. "Top, Brick. We're finished over here and falling back to our FFP."

"Rog, standby to pack up. This situation is getting a little out of hand."

"Rog."

Ghost shifted uncomfortably as he pulled his rifle close in to his body and got up with CJ in trail.

"Last i checked the unknown was deadly right?"

"Very much so."

"How do we know she's not running for sicarios or who knows what else, hell  how did she even find us? No one finds us."

"Yeah...I know."

"You gonna smokecheck her Ghost?"

"If i have to. Yes." Ghost quickly fell back into their hide, taking up his position and providing security as CJ broke out the hardcase laptop once more, quietly typing as his eyes scanned.

"Remind me to avoid the parks you frequent, if this reminds you of them."

Alastair raised a joking brow as he mused over the piece of banter for precious moments before a figure had come, talking of Cate. Though his team had gotten ready for an ambush, they were quickly waved down with a cautious hand as he assessed the situation and more that she spoke, the more that he realised that this was a source that may be useful.

"She said to try a frontal assault now would be sheer suicide and she asks that you stall for at least four to five hours. She asks only for one meter of copper wire and a roll of duck tape, that is all."

"Four to five--Fuck, you're being serious..." Alastair said, scratching his head as he regarded the woman and her request, an incredulous tone taking place. "Look, we're almost ready to rock and she's saying that a frontal assault's suicidal?" He could think about the planes flying over head and the explosion that followed if they stalled. "And, you're going to be able to smuggle this past the guards, how exactly?"

They were packed with duck tape; an important element, that proved itself useful from time to time in combat. Alastair signaled to Franklin that he would get his duck tape out of his trouser pocket, keeping his gaze fixated on the woman as the others proceeded to check their surroundings for an incoming ambush.

Alastair turned to the US Element, "We reckon it's the only lead we've got. Our problem, stalling for time. But if she's telling the truth, we may just get the pilot and a couple of others. We won't be able to find this out if they all wind up dead if she doesn't get back on time."

"And, we all know what it's like to get grilled for not being punctual. 'Cept, she's going to pay with her life." Doc added, his lips pressed into a tight line.

The young woman wasn't a soldier by any stretch of the imagination, most of her life had been spent picking coffee beans or some other hard labor from sunrise to sunset to help her single mother care for six other siblings, all girls who in this part of the world like many others had little value to the grand scheme of things. Then the 'Cartel' came a year ago, posing as 'Freedom Fighters' with their grand speeches of helping the poor rise up from the capitalist oppression of the government regime. Her family and others like them had lived a world of poverty, it was all they knew other than the odd citizen who suddenly disappeared from time to time for speaking up about the hardships they suffered. Her father was one of them.

So it was she found herself with these 'patriots' some eight months ago. In the beginning they were all local men, other than Juan Sandez, a unionist from General Motors in Buenos Aires. He at least was a former soldier and it was he who initially looked after all their training; which was basic at best. Then some few months ago some foreigners started to join them, Arabic speaking men who said they could help deliver them from their oppressors but to do that they all need to seek forgiveness from Allah, be purged of their sins and join the world wide Caliphate to create an ever lasting peace.

Naturally the naive locals fell for it, many of them hadn't even heard of Islam, most of them couldn't read or write, while many had virtually zero contact with the world at large. While Luciana wasn't totally ignorant, she had a few years of schooling, she was though innocent enough at the time to fall for it. That was until one of her friends find Juan dead one morning, shot through the head. It all changed then, any questioning of their methods was answered with swift retribution, that included the women. Fail to meet your obligations, meant death. She had an idea.

"No, Catherine asked for it senor, but I believe it is possible to speed up what she wants to do. Eliminate one of their resources that she had planned on doing from the inside, can be done more easily from without." The good thing about being a local, she knew the lay of the land. "Twenty meters above the sullage exit where I escaped is their transmission tower, without that they are completely blind to all communications. Even their hand radios in this area rely on it. You have explosives si?" Her own plan if they were agreeable, was to place explosives around the tower on a timer, then take the men into the same dank tunnel she used, have them wait in the service junction as she gets back to Cate, letting her know of what was going down. Hopefully it could be timed right so she could get all the girls out safely. In her mind she could see the tower blowing, just as they let these hombres in to do what they had to do to those who had destroyed her life.

"Assassin, Tango 4, this is Mount Pleasant actual. Be advised you have an SBS team inbound to assist in S and R. ETA 4 hours."
"I'm an Air Force officer just like you are, Colonel. And just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn't mean I can't handle whatever you can handle."

The two Canadians continued to provide overwatch for their American and British counterparts, their weapons aimed down range, scanning for anything that looked like a rather unfriendly local. Thankfully it appeared there was no movement at all from the complex, or the surrounding hard targets set about it. All the while, they waited for further Intel from the others relating to the girl who had seemingly found their position with little to no trouble. Damion hoped it was sheer dumb luck that had seen to this local finding their fellow operators hiding spot. Either way, he didn’t let it stick around in his mind, rather he focused his worry towards the lack of patrols. Something was up, he could tell that, but what it was, was anyone’s guess at the moment. Though as Damion continued to scan the treeline for any movement, the mics went off as Top’s voice came through, giving them a rundown of the situation. Both men frowned in annoyance.

“Solid copy, thanks for the update. Out.” Damion replied quickly, his reply short as he began to put together the whole situation, though as he was in the middle of his thoughts, the comms crackled to life once more.

This time it was the Brits giving an update on the SBS troop rolling in with the QRF. “What the fuck is with all this shit?” Damion thought, his frown still glued to his face.

Damion keying his comms, “All call signs, this is Assassin-Four Actual. I say fuck that… we’re not waiting around for five hours, or four, or any amount of time any of them want for that matter. Too much time for too little a reward, and way too much risk for QRF to come in IF we wait around as they want. If they want the pilot alive and well, they’ll need to trust us to do our job. I’ll take the heat for this op as the superior officer in the field, I’ll pull the trigger here, and say let’s do what we’re good at.” He paused a moment to let his words sink in before continuing. “Have the CAG and SBS Operators move to infiltrate the complex using the knowledge of the local you picked up. No point wasting valuable intel piece if they walked right up to us, so use her to our advantage. All Assassin call signs will proceed to pick out targets and once you CAG or Brits give us the word, we’ll open up. No point wasting about, and no need to worry about us, we know the risks.” Taking a quick breath in, he continued, “Only other thing I have to say or suggest to our fellow Operators is to use whatever explosives you have and set them up at any and all soft targets within the complex. Take the whole fucking place down if you feel its possible, we’re not here to save anyone other than that pilot. Its fucked I know, but we all have our job, so let’s get to it. Also, Assassin-Three Actual, any chance I can get your comms guy to keep our QRF updated with any and all developments as needed? Over."

Christian just smirked and shook his head. “Better make sure we have enough ammo then, knowing how many are holed up in there, and the number rolling about, we’ll be popping a lot of shots.”

Damion nodded, “Do your checks man, but ready up to move, we’ll be mobile through this whole thing once the shit hits the fan. Once we fire off our first rounds we move.”

“Sounds good boss,” Christian replied before he quickly began to ready up his kit to move.

Thankfully the two Tier-1 operators came in light, carrying only the things they’d need for a recon op. They both knew they didn’t have the ammo for a long firefight, but they’d make damn sure that every round they fired counted.
